The Road to Reading is a collection of wallcharts, flash cards, and stories designed to be used as an aid to teaching reading and English grammar. All the materials in the scheme are suitable for printing on one or two sides of ordinary A4 paper and laminated, so they can easily be reproduced for use at home, in playgroups and nurseries or schools.

The content is aimed at children aged from 5 to 11. The link here takes you to the teachers' area of the site where you find help and suggestions for using the resources from the site for lesson planning.

This is a teacher-friendly alternative to YouTube. Go to the Channels tab to narrow your search. You will find videos on Reading and Writing as well as a whole host of YL material. It even provides a platform for your learners to upload their own videos. Be aware that these types of websites can use up a lot of bandwidth, so are not suitable for schools with poor connectivity.
